I’m doing a little summer concert on facebook right now, so if you enjoy medieval/renassaince music, head over to http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/pages/Pete-Riesett/97794497979 and become a fan!
Taking a break from my grandmother’s things today, here’s me doing a cover of German medieval rock band Schelmish’s song, ‘Aequinoctium’. Feel free to leave your comments here, or on the youtube page, which is here.
I’ve been meddling with a few different variations of the Bear Dance (a medieval german sone) on my mandolin, and decided to tab out the variation that I kept returning to. So for those interested, here’s a PDF copy of the tab/sheet music: Bär Tanz
I’ll probably do a video or recording of myself playing it at some point in time, so now you have something to ook forward to in the future. Isn’t it nice to finally have a reason to live?
This time, it’s a traditional Russian tune called ‘Alexandrovski’. Enjoy:
A little more mandolin love…
I hate to say it, but it’s becoming more fun to play around with than the banjo…
I’ve had a couple of people ask me to show them the mandolin, so I uploaded me playing a song I started learning two days ago called Metsäkukkia. It’s a finnish folk song, a waltz. I’m not fast enough for the second part yet (although I’m a little faster that recorded…I always make more mistakes when a camera is on).
So here it is…
