Stalker Names
I love the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games and am more than willing to put up with their occasional bugs for the chance to run around and shoot people in the Ukraine. One of the best quirks of these games are the names. The people at GSC Gameworld seem to have a template for naming people. ‘Name’, ‘Noun’. For example, some of my favs from dead people in the swamps:

Ren Faire
We went as a family to the Maryland Ren Faire today, and had quite a bit of fun. Amongst all the usual stuff, the girls got their hair braided, got to ride horses, and play on the playground, and we got to see Wolgemut. There were some bellydancing women right in front of where Em and I were sitting, and they seemed to befriend each other well enough, with Em trying to dance like them, and occasionally asking them questions about their belly button piercings. Most of the way through the set, Micha (from Wolgemut) was …we’ll call it dancing in front of the bellydancers, and Em noticed him and decided he was a friend too. Then she promptly got up on stage with the group! Sorry Micha and crew!

Took Li to the harbor again
As a treat for surviving the first week of school intact, I took Lisa on a daddy and me trip to the Harbor. While we were there, some really nice people gave us free tickets to the aquarium that they weren’t using. She had a grand time. Favorite quote (as she leaned up against the bubble columns) , “Daddy, they sound just like Mommy’s tummy!”
